Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Beer Technologies is the trading name of Beer Tech Studios LLC, based in Castle Rock, Colorado. We design and build websites, booking systems and custom software for small businesses.

This policy covers beer-technologies.com and everything on it, including the product demo at /demo. We are the controller of the information described here. You can reach us at hello@beertechstudios.com.

2. Information you give us

The quote form asks for your name and email, and optionally your business name, the kind of project, a rough budget band, a preferred day and a message. Only the name, email and message are needed; the rest are there to make the first conversation useful.

If we offer you call times, we also store the slot you pick, or the note you leave if none of them work. If you email us, we keep the correspondence.

Please do not send us anyone else's personal information, or anything sensitive — health, financial account, precise location or similar — through this site. We do not ask for it and have no reason to hold it.

3. Information collected automatically

• Your IP address, which our host passes to us on each request. We use it only to stop abuse of the quote form and the demo assistant, by counting recent requests per address. Those counters expire on their own.
• Usage information through Google Analytics: pages viewed, the site or advert that referred you, approximate city-level location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type.
• Aggregate traffic statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
• Conversion measurement. When you submit the quote form or book a call, we tell Google Ads that an enquiry happened and attach the budget band you selected as its value. No name, email, business name or message is included.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

• Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, to measure how the site is used.
• Advertising cookies set by Google Ads, to connect an enquiry back to the advert that produced it.
• Local storage in your own browser, holding your privacy choice so we do not ask again, and — inside the demo — the sandbox you are playing with.

None of these are needed for the site to work, and declining costs you nothing. Use the Privacy choices control at the bottom of any page to change your mind at any time.

5. The product demo

The demo at /demo is a complete website for an invented photography studio. Everything you change there is stored in your own browser and reaches no server, nobody else sees it, and "Reset demo" erases it.

There is one exception. Messages you type to the demo's assistant are sent to Anthropic, which generates the reply. Please do not type real personal information into it.

6. How we use information

• To answer your enquiry and arrange a call.
• To send you the confirmation, the offered times, a calendar invite, and one follow-up after a call.
• To provide, secure and troubleshoot the site, and to prevent abuse.
• To understand which pages and which adverts bring people who go on to enquire.
• To keep records we need for tax, accounting and legal purposes.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of this business, and only for the purposes below.

• Cloudflare

  Site hosting, the database holding quote requests, rate-limit counters, and cookieless aggregate traffic statistics.

• Google (Analytics and Ads)

  How the site is used, and whether an enquiry followed an advert. We send the budget band you selected as a conversion value; we never send your name, email or message.

• Resend

  Delivery of the emails we send you: the confirmation of your request, the times we offer, the calendar invite, and one follow-up after a call.

• Anthropic

  Only the messages typed into the assistant inside the product demo, in order to generate its replies.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to establish or defend legal claims, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business — in which case this policy would continue to apply until you are told otherwise.

8. Targeted advertising, and how to switch it off

Using Google Ads to connect enquiries back to adverts counts as targeted advertising under the Colorado Privacy Act, and may count as a "sale" under some other state laws, which define the word broadly enough to cover an exchange that involves no money. We treat it as both, so the opt-out is offered either way. There are two ways to use it:

• The Privacy choices control at the bottom of every page. It takes effect immediately and is remembered in your browser.
• Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out request on every page load and switch advertising measurement off without asking. Since 1 July 2024 the Colorado Attorney General has recognised GPC as a valid universal opt-out mechanism, and a live GPC signal overrides any earlier choice made here.

We do not use your information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not process sensitive data for advertising.

9. Your privacy rights

Colorado gives residents the right to confirm whether we hold their personal data and get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere in a portable form, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling.

We are a small business and probably fall below the thresholds that make the Colorado Privacy Act binding on us. We honour these rights anyway, for everyone who asks, wherever they live — it is a short list and we would rather simply do it than measure whether we have to.

To make a request, email hello@beertechstudios.com and say what you want. We may need to ask a question or two to be confident the request is really yours, which for most people means replying from the address you originally wrote to us from. You may use an authorised agent. We answer within 45 days, and will tell you if we need a further 45 — which we would only need for something unusual.

If we say no, we will tell you why, and you can appeal simply by replying to that message. We will answer the appeal within 45 days. If you are still unhappy you can complain to the Colorado Attorney General at coag.gov/file-complaint.

Exercising any of these rights costs nothing and we will never treat you differently for it.

10. How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and the correspondence around them for as long as we may still need them — to do the work, to answer questions about it afterwards, and to meet tax and accounting obligations — and then delete them. Rate-limit counters expire within a day. Analytics data is held on Google's and Cloudflare's own retention schedules.

If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.

11. How we protect it

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, as Colorado law requires of us (C.R.S. § 6-1-713.5): the site is served only over HTTPS, admin pages require a key and are never cached or indexed, the scheduling links we email are single-purpose secret tokens, and we collect as little as the job needs.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your personal information we will notify you in the timeframe Colorado requires — within 30 days of determining it happened (C.R.S. § 6-1-716) — and the Attorney General where the law calls for it.

12. Children

This is a site for business owners. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act requires. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

13. Email we send you

If you ask for a quote, we email you about it: a confirmation, the times we can offer, a calendar invite once you pick one, and a single follow-up the day after the call. These are about the enquiry you made.

We do not run a marketing list and will not add you to one. If you would rather not hear from us at all, reply to any message and say so, or write to hello@beertechstudios.com, and we will stop.

14. AI features

The assistant inside the demo is an AI system, not a person. It is there to show how an owner could run a site by typing plain instructions, and it answers only about that fictional business.

We say so plainly because we think you should know, and because Colorado's algorithmic transparency law — reenacted in 2026 as a notice-based framework taking effect on 1 January 2027 — will expect it. We do not use AI to make decisions about you.

15. Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States and the information described here is processed here, under United States law. If you are in the United Kingdom, Switzerland or the European Economic Area, nothing optional runs until you agree to it — analytics and advertising are switched off in those regions by default, and stay off unless you turn them on.

16. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Where the change is significant and the law requires your agreement, we will ask for it rather than assume it.
